Mental health …the big taboo

Tell someone you have breast cancer at the very least they have sympathy for you. Tell someone you have broken your arm they will say I am so sorry. However let it be : depression, or drug addiction or any mental dis”order” shoo but the judgement, the “look” and the opposite of support.

Like a sausage, by and large every time.

Even amongst colleagues. Even amongst loved ones.

Why? Why such stigma, such judgement, such vile poison?

Are we afraid? Is it fear? Is it selfish?

I don’t know, I only know the reaction is sad.

We are all physical, emotional and spiritual beings who battle multiple fronts on any given day. We all have spots in all of these areas. And yet in the strangest way we are all connected. And deeply so. Believe it or not. Your choice. But the truth is we are.

Think on this today. Perhaps you have such a person in your life. It would mean the world to them to even just be accepted by you.
